Isolation of an Unidentified Spirochete from Hen's Eggs after Inoculation with Liver Tissue from Hens

Abstract
Spirochetes were found in chick embryos inoculated with liver tissue from hens. They could be maintained by egg passage. The spirochetes were not identified but were shown to be non-pathogenic to hens, guinea pigs or mice. The findings are of interest to those using eggs for growing viruses either for research or vaccine production.
