Abstract
A 66-yr.-old white male with metastatic prostatic carcinoma rapidly developed a paraplegia while under hospital care. At the same time a spinal fluid block believed to be due to an intracanalicular metastatic mass was demonstrated. He was treated with 15 mg. of stilbestrol daily. Remission of the paraplegia and relief of the spinal fluid block resulted after 3 weeks of treatment. The palliative effects of estrogenic therapy were considerable in this patient. Keywords
