Experimental Evidence for a Surface Mechanism for Hysteresis in Low-κType-II Superconductors

Abstract
The results of several new types of experiments on low-κ type-II hysteretic superconductors are reported. These include measurements of the detailed structure of hysteresis loops, surface-coating experiments, hollow-cylinder magnetization measurements, transport-current measurements, and magnetization of totally hysteretic samples. These results are interpreted in terms of a surface mechanism for hysteresis.
