Two Paracolon Cultures Related Antigenically toShigella paradysenteriae

Abstract

Two paracolon strains, isolated from the same patient, that bear identical antigens and that share minor antigens with the Flexner group of S. paradysenteriae are described. In addition a non-reciprocal relationship of Boyd P143 was found. The findings add additional evidence of a lack of sharp antigenic demarcation between organisms of the Enterobacteriaceae.
