Studies in the Lauraceae

Abstract

An account of the comparative embryology of the Lauraceae is presented, and the bearing of the data on problems of classification and relationships of the family is examined. In general, the study supports the conclusions of earlier authors in showing that the existing delimitations of the generic and higher subdivisions of the family are not satisfactory and that the family is probably most closely related to Monimiaceae and Hernandiaceae.
