Training in face‐processing skills for a child with acquired prosopagnosia

Abstract
Four face‐processing‐skills training programs were administered to KD, a child with acquired prosopagnosia, over a period of 18 months. These programs involved simultaneous matching of photographs of familiar and unfamiliar faces, paired discriminations of computer‐generated schematic faces, paired discriminations of digitized images of real faces, and learning face‐name associations. None of these programs yielded any improvement with practice. The results are discussed with reference to rehabilitation/remediation schemes for other prosopagnosics, most of whom are adults.
