Brain abscess secondary to paranasal sinusitis

Abstract

Paranasal sinusitis is the commonest source of infection causing a subdural and frontal lobe abscess and is associated with a mortality of 25%. The ear, nose and throat surgeon should be consulted by his neurosurgical colleague at the earliest stage of management in order to deal with the primary source of infection.
