A Chemically Defined Medium for Growth of Animal Cells in Suspension

Abstract
A chemically defined medium that supports growth of L, HeLa, monkey kidney, rat spleen, guinea pig kidney and cat kidney cells in continuous suspension culture is described. The medium contains 13 amino-acids, 10 vitamins, 6 inorganic salts, glucose, pyruvate, methylcellulose, insulin, phenol red and antibiotics.
