Abstract
The cerebroside isolated post mortem from the spleen of a 3 yr. old [female] who succumbed to Gaucher''s disease was examined for the type of sugar present in the molecule. On the basis of chemical and fermentation tests d-galactose was the only sugar found. However, the author reviews previous cases and concludes that glucose may sometimes be present in the cerebroside isolated from the spleen in Gaucher''s disease.
