Optical Potential for Closely Coupled States

Abstract
The method of closely coupled states is shown to be the lowest order approximation to a suitably modified optical potential set of equations. These equations are then used with a variational expression for the scattering amplitude to give an estimate for the correction to the method of closely coupled states.Keywords
