Abstract
In reviewing the ecgs of 742 cases of myocardial infarction, 14 cases (1.9%) showed disappearance of abnormal Q waves and reversion to normal between 2 and 18 months. All were men between the ages of 49 to 66; most had a short history of anginal pain before infarction and a normal blood pressure. Nine patients had antero-septal infarction, 4 had posterior infarction and one had both. It is suggested mat the return of the ecg to normal is due to the shrinkage of the healed area so that it is not electrically detectable. Keywords
