Microwave Spectrum of Chlorine Dioxide. II. Analysis of Hyperfine Structure and the Spectrum of Cl35O16O18

Abstract

The hyperfine structure of the microwave spectra of ${\mathrm{Cl}}^{35}$ ${\mathrm{O}}_2$ and ${\mathrm{Cl}}^{37}$ ${\mathrm{O}}_2$ has been analyzed. It was found possible to fit the hyperfine splitting within experimental error with the Hamiltonian: $H=A{N_a}^2+B{N_b}^2+C{N_c}^2+{\mathrm{}\left(0\right)\mathrm{}}_S\left(\mathrm{N}·\mathrm{S}\right)+\Sigma \stackrel{\mathrm{abc}}{i}{\mathrm{}\left(\mathrm{ii}\right)\mathrm{}}_S{N}_i{S}_i+{\mathrm{}\left(0\right)\mathrm{}}_I\left(\mathrm{S}·\mathrm{I}\right)+\Sigma \stackrel{\mathrm{abc}}{i}{\mathrm{}\left(\mathrm{ii}\right)\mathrm{}}_I{S}_i{I}_i+\Sigma \stackrel{\mathrm{abc}}{i}{\mathrm{}\left(\mathrm{ii}\right)\mathrm{}}_Q{I_i}^2.$ Also, several rotational transitions of ${\mathrm{Cl}}^{35}$ ${\mathrm{O}}^{16}$ ${\mathrm{O}}^{18}$ have been observed and assigned.
