Abstract
We show that the theoretical arguments of Bos and Doane3 to explain the relative temperature dependence of the deuteron NMR splittings in liquid crystals, in terms of more than one order parameter, can be seriously questioned, and that for TBBA, the explanation should necessarily introduce the temperature dependence of the averages over the internal motions. Keywords
