A greater proportion of female than male adult greater snow geese (Chen caerulescens atlantica) were shot along firing lines at the periphery of sanctuaries in Quebec. Such differential mortality was not observed for adults in areas where hunting is not conducted along firing lines or for juveniles in either type of hunting area.
