A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM OF SCALAR SCATTERING FROM A SMOOTH, BOUNDED OBSTACLE USING INTEGRAL EQUATIONS

Abstract

The problem of scalar scattering by a solid obstacle is reduced to the solution of an integral equation of the second kind. A method of solution of the integral equation for the axi-symmetric problem is described, and results given in the particular cases of a plane wave scattered from rigid prolate and oblate spheroids of various eccentricities.
