Some Properties of Pseudomonas Blue Protein and Its Apo-Protein*

Abstract
Dialysis of P-blue protein against 0.5 [image] KCN-0.1 [image] phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) split off Cu from the enzyme. Apoprotein could recombine only with Cu2+ stoichiometri-cally, but not any other metallic ions. The reconstructed enzyme showed approximately similar chemical, physicochemical and enzymic properties as the native enzyme, except that an UV absorption peak of the oxidized form shifted from 280 m/i to shorter wavelengths.
