Differences in interest in leisure-time activity offered by community centers were found in a study of two groups of Jewish aged: Natives and foreign-borns. The measuring instrument consisted of a revised model of Chapin's Social Participation Scale. Data point to the importance of understanding culturally pre-determined expectations of ethnic groups in planning meaningful activities for the elderly.
