Propagating Thermal Modes in a Fluid under Thermal Constraint

Abstract
In a stably stratified fluid layer there is a transition beyond which an oscillatory behavior appears. Using forced-Rayleigh-scattering spectroscopy, we found experimental evidence for the existence of propagating modes in agreement with the theoretical predictions.Keywords
