Familial Balanced Reciprocal Translocation t(1;16) (q12;p13) Ascertained because of Multiple Abortions in a Carrier

Abstract

A familial balanced reciprocal translocation was ascertained through a female carrier whose last 3 pregnancies ended in missed abortions. Five translocation carriers were detected in 3 generations among 9 family members investigated. The translocation could be the cause for the abortions of the subject and her cousin''s wife.
