Occupation Probabilities in the Lattice Gas

Abstract

A set of relations obtained by Widom for the probabilities f_r that an empty cell is surrounded by r filled cells is rederived and extended. The consequences of the relations for the partition function, the correlation functions, and partially coupled systems are discussed.
