Abstract
Human synovial tissue and fibrous capsular tissue contain no or only traces of tissue thromboplastin. Both tissues contain an activator of plasminogen. Hence clot formation in joints depends upon the plasma thromboplastin. This explains the occurrence of hemorrhage into joints in hemophilic patients. Keywords
