Compound System Formation atEc.m.=36MeV inN14+C12→Li6+Ne20

Abstract
Angular distributions of Li6 produced in the reaction N14 + C12Li6 + Ne20 have been measured at a center-of-mass energy of 36 MeV. Data were taken for the reactions C12(N14, Li6)Ne20 and N14(C12, Li6)Ne20 in order to cover the complete angular range (16<~θc.m.<~165). The angular distributions are symmetric about θc.m.=90 and closely follow a (sinθ)1 dependence. This is interpreted as indicating that the reaction proceeds primarily through compound-nucleus formation.
