Abstract
Some physico-chemical and pharmacological properties of an oxytocic substance (O. S.) in acid-alcohol extracts of human blood have been investigated. This substance is not believed to be oxytocin, K+, acetylcholine, H. T., histamine, hypertensin, substance P, pepsitocin, or P. P. S. It is probably a polypeptide and of the polypeptides which are known to stimulate smooth muscle, it most closely resembles bradykinin, kallidin, or substances U and Z.Keywords
