The metabolism of Leishmania donovani in culture

Abstract
A study of biochemical activities of Leishmania donovani was made in vitro. During" the period of growth glucose disappeared from the culture medium, the pH of which fell in a manner related to growth of the organisms. CO2, acetic, pyruvic, succinic, and probably lactic acids were produced, and their quantitative production during growth of cultures was followed.
