Abstract
Cats do not appear to excrete 17-oxo steroids in the urine. Hydrolysis and extraction of urine, followed by the Girard separation and the application of the Zimmermann reaction, gave rise to atypical yellow colors in both ketonic and''non-ketonic fractions. After the administration of adrenocorticotropic hormone and of testosterone propionate, it was still not possible to demonstrate typical Zimmermann chromogens in cat urine.
