Abstract
This paper investigates the ability of a popular digital voice technique (Adaptive Delta Modulation, ADM/FSK) to operate compatibly in the present Private Land-Mobile Radio Services. It analyzes the technique relative to current FCC rules on cochannel coordination distance, adjacent channel coordination distance, baseband filtering, and analog/digital co-channel compatibility, and recommends rule changes to accommodate this class of digital voice equipment.
