Abstract
The construction and use of an apparatus for measuring gas production in methanogenic cultures is described. The device consists of 2 glass syringes and 2 3-way stopcocks assembled and connected to a water manometer. Measurements of known amounts of methane added to serum bottles gave recoveries between 96-101%.
