Superconductivity in La-Ba-Cu-O metallic oxide compounds above 50 K

Abstract
Metallic oxide compound systems of La-Ba-Cu-O have been prepared for investigation of conductivity phenomena. Physical and chemical properties of the samples have been determined by thermogravimetry, x-ray powder diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy. The highest onset temperatures reached for superconducting transition are 51 and 56 K with temperature widths of 2 and 3 K, respectively. Magnetic behavior corresponding to superconductivity has been observed too.
