Abstract
Raman amplified 10 ps soliton pulses generated directly from an electroabsorption modulator based source have been adiabatically compressed in a Raman fibre amplifier, giving pulse duration tunable sources of 10 – 1 ps at 10 GHz and average powers up to 650 mW, dependent on the magnitude of the amplification. Keywords
