MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE EPIDIDYMAL ADIPOSE TISSUE IN STARVED AMERICAN OBESE-HYPERGLYCEMIC MICE

Abstract

The changes in epididymal adipose tissue were studied in American obese-hyperglycemic mice starved to normal body weights. The effect of starvation on epididymal fat cells was relatively small compared with subcutaneous fat cells. In spite of body weight reduction to normal levels, both types of fat cells were considerably larger than in their non-obese siblings.
