THE GLYCOTROPIC (ANTI-INSULIN) ACTIVITY OF THE Na FACTOR AND CORTIN FRACTIONS OF THE ADRENAL1

Abstract
The resistance of normal fasted mice to insulin is increased by both the cortin fraction and the Na factor fraction of adrenal extract. The former is more effective. The increased resistance appears to be due to gluconeogenesis because both the blood sugar and liver glycogen are elevated.
