Abstract
The UNIX† time-sharing system is a powerful and efficient multiuser operating system possessing many unique and attractive advantages. In order to fully support an interactive graphics facility, however, several minor extensions were made to provide the necessary high performance 'real-time' environment. These enhancements to the UNIX system are described together with the implementation details for the Picture System 2 Graphic Subroutine Package. Keywords
