Abstract
In 4 patients with intact adrenals given 100 mg of Compound S or 300 mg Compound S acetate orally, only the 2 on the larger dose showed an increase in urinary etio-cholanolone. In 4 adrenalectomized patients given 200-300 mg of Compound S acetate, 0.7 to 5.7% was converted to 17-keto-steroids. In all 4 cases etiocholan 3 a-ol-17-one was excreted and in 2 cases androstan-3 a -ol-17-one was excreted. Keywords
