STRUCTURAL TRANSFORMATION STUDIED BY THERMAL EXPANSION ON SINGLE CRYSTALS V3Si IN NORMAL AND SUPERCONDUCTING STATES

Abstract

Measurements of the thermal expansion are presented on several single crystals of V3Si with various purities in the absence and presence of magnetic fields. The anisotropic thermal expansion indicates that the transformation begins at a temperature above 30 K ; this seems to be explained by the formation of microdomains
