Abstract
In the course of experiments on the production of polarized neutrons, small-angle scattering (of the order of one minute) of neutrons in unmagnetized iron was observed. Further detailed experiments on the angular distribution, and variation with iron thickness, of the scattering have been performed. The results are compared with theory and are shown to be consistent with the hypothesis that the scattering is caused by magnetic refraction of the neutrons at domain boundaries. Keywords
