Abstract
The heat capacity, entropy, internal energy, and free energy are calculated to 2500°C for tritium and tritium hydride. The distribution of tritium between the ortho and para states is considered. The equilibrium constant for the formation of tritium hydride from hydrogen and tritium is calculated from 50°K to 2500°K. The dissociation of tritium and tritium hydride into the atoms is discussed. The bearing of the radioactivity of tritium and tritium hydride on the attainment of thermodynamic equilibrium is briefly considered.
