Abstract
It is shown that neutralization of the ions at the hot end plates dominates over the process of volume recombination in the Q machine. A wall recombination coefficient is defined and calculated for comparison with the experimental data. Further, the maximum plasma density that can be obtained with the Q machine is discussed. Keywords
