Abstract
Chemical assays of thiamine, riboflavine and nicotinic acid were performed on the contents of the digestive tracts of calves slaughtered at various ages from 2 to 14 weeks. Levels of all 3 vits. generally were higher in all parts of the tract than in the feed the animal had received. Riboflavin and niacin were found in greater concn. in the small intestine than in other regions of the tract. Thiamine was found in highest amts. in the rumen and omasum. No relationship was noted between the age of the calf and levels of B-vitamins in the digestive tract.
