Abstract
The fluorescences of biacetyl, acetone, ethyl methyl ketone, and acetaldehyde have been photographed. The main portions, at least, seem to be identical. A like similarity in the fluorescences of diethyl ketone and propionaldehyde suggests that diketones formed during the photolyses of these carbonyl compounds are the fluorescing substances. Keywords
