The Pathogenetic Spectrum of Aspergillosis

Abstract
7 patients with culturally-identified Aspergillus species are presented to illustrate host-parasite relationships between aspergilli and man. Aspergilli may enter man and continue a purely saprophytic existence, or they may become facultative parasites in the presence of major host abnormalities or drug therapy. Aspergilli may produce disease in man in the absence of known predisposing host factors.
