Abstract
The Born approximation is used to calculate the angular and energy distributions of electrons ejected in the ionization of helium atoms by protons and electrons. The calculations are carried out in both length and velocity formulations of the Born matrix elements: a six-parameter Hylleraas wavefunction is used for the ground-state wavefunction with polarized-orbitals free-state functions. The results are compared with previous calculations and measurements. Keywords
