Compatibility of Insecticides and a Disinfectant12

Abstract
Five insecticides were formulated separately and in combination with a disinfectant 1 Stroke Environ® (O-phenylphenol (10%), O-benzyl p-chlorophenol (7.5%), and p-tertiary amylphenol (2.0%)) to determine compatibility. The insecticides were: Ravap®, stirofos (21.4%) and dichlorvos (5.3%); Ciovap®, crotoxyphos (10.0%) and dichlorvos (2.5%); dimethoate; diazinon; and crotoxyphos. Tests for control of immature stable flies, Stomoxys calcitrans (L.). house flies Musca domestica L., and little house flies, Fannia canicularis (L.), and adult stable flies and house flies indicate that insecticide-disinfectant combinations are stable. Combinations slightly improved the insecticidal activities. Chemical analyses also indicate that insecticide emulsions are stable for at least 24 h alone or in combination with the disinfectant.
