Abstract
Visual communications over wireless networks require theefficient and robust coding of video signals for transmissionover wireless links having time-varying channel capacity. We compare several schemes for encoding video data intotwo priority streams, thereby enabling the transmission ofvideo data over wireless links to be switched between twobit rates. An H.261 (p \Theta 64) algorithm is modified to implementeach candidate scheme. The algorithms are evaluatedfor a microcellular wireless ...Keywords
