Abstract
The trapping properties of a micron-sized, ring-shaped object are examined with an optical model consisting of ray, wave, electromagnetic, and quantum theoretical components. Numerically calculated values for the trapping force vector and the predicted behavior of the ring are in reasonable agreement with reported experimental observations for this object. Keywords
