Abstract
Electro-optic blazed grating deflectors have been used to switch light selectively into a particular high order. The paper assesses the theoretical efficiency of blazed phased gratings which contain an increasing number of Fourier components of the ideal blazed grating, and gives an electroding modification which will impress more than four Fourier components of the periodic phase change on the optical beam. Keywords
