Abstract
The rearrangement energy corrections to the single-particle energies have been evaluated, using the procedure of Brueckner and Goldman. The shift is shown to be due largely to the second- and third-order rearrangement energy diagrams, the corrected energy at the Fermi surface now nearly agreeing with the mean binding energy. Keywords
