Abstract
The velocity of electro-endosmotic flow of a liquid at a point in a closed cylindrical tube of large diameter is shown to be a parabolic function of the distance of the point from the axis of the tube. The velocity along the axis is found to be independent of the diameter. Curves are given from which the endosmotic velocity of water of specific conductivity 1·0-3·0×10-6 ohm-1 cm.-1 along the axis of a silica cell can be read. A value is also given for water of specific conductivity of 1·3×10-6 ohm-1 cm-1 in a pyrex glass cell. Keywords
