Abstract
A theory is presented for the lattice modes of a crystalline lattice of rigid molecules interconnected by 'stiff' axially symmetric bonds. The theory is applied to urea. Values for the stretching and bending constants of the hydrogen bond are derived from elastic constants. Raman frequencies and mean square amplitudes of translation and libration. Keywords
