Mass ofN19

Abstract

${}_{}{}^{19}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{N}$ nuclei from the ${}_{}{}^{18}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$(${}_{}{}^{18}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$, ${}_{}{}^{19}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{N}$)${}_{}{}^{17}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{F}$ reaction at 91 MeV have been observed. The mass excess of ${}_{}{}^{19}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{N}$ is measured as 15.81 ± 0.09 MeV, a value located in between the conflicting predictions of the Garvey-Kelson formula and the modified shell-model mass equation.
