A Spectroscopic Search forH3in ConcentratedH2

Abstract

With hydrogen of which about two-thirds consists of the heavy isotope, ${\mathrm{H}}^2$, a search has been made for the isotope ${\mathrm{H}}^3$. This appears not to be present in ordinary hydrogen to the extent of 1 part in 6,000,000. Photographs are reproduced showing the relative fine structure resolution of ${\mathrm{H}}^1$ and ${\mathrm{H}}^2$.
